Downtown Drama was formed in the winter of 2003/2004 by founding members Jason Szeman (vocals) and Jay "Hooker" Edonel (guitar). Finding themselves growing bored with the local scene, the two set out to try and make a change. Their goal was to combine the sincerity of punk rock with pop sensibilities while still including some heavy undertones. Citing influences such as New Found Glory, Fall Out Boy, All/Descendents, the cure, and 1990's So Cal punk rock, the boys have come up with a blend of toe tappin' goodness that is sure to make you want to break out your dancin' shoes. Szeman and Edonel quickly recruited 17 year old drummer Joe Felice in December of 2003. Felice's talent clearly succeeded his age and was a welcome asset to the two. Not long after they added the talented Branden Sterling on bass.
